Local firm exports four tonnes of sheep wool yarn to Japan

LÂM ĐỒNG — The Đà Lạt Worsted Spinning Limited Co in the Central Highlands province of Lâm Đồng has shipped the first batch of four tonnes of sheep wool yarn to Japan.The company, which operates a US$ 五0 million sheep wool factory in Đà Lạt City, is expected to ship  三00 tonnes of yarn abroad this year. The plant is a joint venture project between Germany’s Sudwolle Group and Liên Phương Textiles Industry Company, based in HCM City.

With an annual designed capacity of about  四,000 tonnes of yarn, the mill aims to create revenue from $ 一00- 一 二0 million each year, contributing to the job generation for locals as it recruits up to  四00 labourers. Up to  九0 per cent of the finished wool yarn from the factory will be shipped to textile companies using sheep wool worldwide. In addition to the production function, the factory will be open to visitors who can watch the whole process of producing yarns from natural wool. Việt Nam currently has  五0 garment facilities using wool, with most of them using materials imported from Australia.— VNS
